Memorial Day - (KCTCS Holiday - Campus closed).
July 3
Independence Day - (KCTCS Holiday - Campus closed).
July 15
Financial Aid Priority Deadline for Fall. Students applying after this date must make payment arrangements and complete the FAFSA immediately at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. See the college Web site for more details at: http://www.westkentucky.kctcs.edu.

New Student Orientation, 10am-2pm, Clemens Fine Arts Center.

  • Last day to pay Fall 2009 tuition or make payment arrangements to avoid cancellation of Fall classes
  • Deadline for setting up tuition payment plan to qualify for paying in three payments with 25% down payment.
    AFTER JULY 31, STUDENTS REGISTERING MUST PAY OR SET UP PAYMENT PLAN AT TIME OF REGISTRATION.
August 1

Offices closed for faculty and staff in-service.
August 12 - 14
Registration continues for Fall 2009 classes (Tuition or payment arrangements due at time of registration).
August 14
Deadline for setting up tuition payment plan to qualify for paying in three payments with 50% down payment.
August 17
Class work begins. Registration and schedule readjustment continues for courses which have not yet met. PAYMENT REQUIRED AT TIME OF REGISTRATION.
August 21
For 16-week classes
  • Last day to drop a course without a grade.
  • Last day to withdraw and receive a 100% tuition refund.
September 7
Labor Day Holiday - (KCTCS Holiday - Campus closed)
September 15
  • Last day to file an application in the Registrar's office for a December 2009 degree.
  • Last day to withdraw and receive a 50% tuition refund. (for 16 week classes only)
October 6
For 16-week classes:
  • Last day for students, at their discretion, to officially withdraw and receive a grade of "W."
  • Last day to change from credit to audit..
October 7 - 9

PELL, SEOG, and Student Loan recipients (Title IV) who officially withdraw from this date forward may not be required to repay a portion of their financial aid.

* Applicants who have scored less than an 18 in English and reading and 20 in math on the ACT must also take the ASSET or COMPASS placement assessment. The COMPASS placement assessment is given in the Assessment Center located in the Anderson Technical Building and in the Workplace Skills Center at Kentucky Oaks Mall.
