West Kentucky Community & Technical College celebrated its five year anniversary as a consolidated institution on Thursday, December 4 the Clemens Fine Arts Theatre Lobby and Theatre and Student Center.

WKCTC, a member of the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, was born from the consolidation of two respected institutions - Paducah Community College and West Kentucky Technical College. While embracing their unique identities and legacies of service, PCC and West Kentucky TECH consolidated their functions, programs, and services to more effectively and efficiently meet the needs of students and the region. On December 9, 2003, WKCTC was granted regional accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), officially completing the college's consolidation.

"When we consolidated, we saw the many challenges facing us; we dreamed of the college we wanted to become. It’s amazing what we have achieved,”said WKCTC President Barbara Veazey.

"The community can be very proud of this milestone. West Kentucky would not be the progressive, dynamic college it is today without the generosity of spirit of our many friends, supporters, and dedicated faculty and staff who have worked so hard to continually move the college forward," she said.
