(STEM) Scholarships
STEM scholarships
are available to qualified high school student and first time
student. This scholarship enables low-income, non-traditional
or minority students to pursue an associate degree in manufacturing/engineering
technology, information technology or pre-engineering programs. This
scholarship may be renewable for a second consecutive year
of study based on academic performance.
High
School Seniors & First Time Students
Current high school seniors are eligible for STEM scholarships
at WKCTC if:
- A complete scholarship application is submitted.
- They are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, refugee alien or
permanent resident alien at the time of application.
- They plan to be enrolled fulltime at WKCTC. Fulltime
enrollment for STEM scholarships required completion of 30
credit hours each academic year.
- Demonstrate academic potential and/or ability based upon
high school GPA and ACT score.
- Submit teacher recommendation(s). Form is available on
the scholarship Web site.
- Submit a 500 word essay on goals and expectations of applicant’s
chosen career.
- Submit a 2009 FAFSA confirmation. FAFSA must demonstrate
financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education
eligibility rules for need-based federal financial aid.
