Dental Assisting/Dental Hygiene Pinning Ceremony
 

Eleven individuals received their Dental Assisting/Dental Hygiene pins at a ceremony in Crounse Hall at West Kentucky Community and Technical College March 27.

Dental Hygiene 2009 Class President Laura Lee received the Academic Excellence Award and Jennifer Oakley received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award.(more)


Open House Brings in Lots of People

More than 200 people attended an open house at West Kentucky Community & Technical College April 14 at the Anderson Technical Building. (more)


WKCTC Student Takes Part in Snap-On Excellence Program

Tony Tyler (pictured with equipment) proudly displays the new 54” Snap-on Roll Cab he was able to purchase thanks to the Snap-on Student Excellence Program. Tyler, a resident of Arlington, will graduate in May from the Collision Repair Technology program at West Kentucky Community & Technical College.

An international tool company headquartered in Kensoha, Wisconsin, Snap-on’s program is designed to meet the needs of full-time students who are enrolled in an approved school program such as WKCTC. The program allowed Tyler to make the initial investment he would need to start his career in collision repair at a discounted cost for quality equipment.  In addition, as a participant in the program, Tyler also recently received a $400 Snap-on gift card.  

Open House for CDL Truck Driver Training Program
 
The CDL Truck Driver Training program at the Purchase Training Center held an open house on March 12 in Mayfield.  Students were able to talk with representatives from trucking agencies about future job opportunities. (more)

Shining Stars in Paducah

Tim Glotzbach praised city officials, college administrators, local businesses & industries,  and members of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce in making Paducah a community that’s being watched across the nation.

Glotzbach, director of the Berea College Craft Program, was the keynote speaker at the April 2, 2009 Chamber Power in Partnership (PIP) at the Carson Four Rivers Center. (more )

Seventh Graders Discover Cost of Living at Reality Store

Questions about the cost of health services and other necessities like food and insurance were common, and eye-opening, as Paducah Middle seventh graders participated in the Reality Store recently. (more)
