WKCTC Construction Technology students work on a door at the Madison Street house. |
The West Kentucky Community & Technical College Madison Street House project is close to completion.
Construction Technology Instructor John Moore said students have been working on the project for several semesters.
“One of the final steps in finishing the exterior of our house project is to remove any temporary guard rails and install the permanent porch railings. The process requires precise measuring and cutting skills as well as teamwork,” Moore said.
“The tools we use are pencil and paper, tape measures and layout squares, an assortment of drills and drivers, a power miter saw and spirit level. The end result really helps define the overall look of the house and satisfies local building code requirements.”
