Sen. Ken Winters

Kentucky State Senator Ken Winters will be the featured speaker at the 2009 West Kentucky Community & Technical College Graduation Ceremony at 7 pm May 15.

More than 250 candidates for graduation are expected to participate in the ceremony which will be held for the first time in the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center. Tickets are required.

Student leaders William Cole Hackett and Immanual “Manny” Landwehr, both members of the 2009 Kentucky Community & Technical College System Academic Team, will also speak during the ceremony.

In 2004, Winters was elected as State Senator representing the 1st District (seven counties) in Western Kentucky. Immediately upon his election, Winters was selected to chair the Senate Education Committee. He continues in that role.

More than 1,200 WKCTC students are candidates to receive one or more associate’s degrees, diplomas and certificates.
